Worship Assistants

Acolytes
Acolytes are very important people with a number of responsibilities. When the candles are lit the congregation is reminded that Jesus (the Light of the world) is present with us now.

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild performs a silent, or hidden, ministry preparing and adorning the altars and church for our worship services. The changing vestments and altar hangings remind us of the progression of seasons in the Christian calendar, and they accent special services throughout the year. Members of the Altar Guild also set-up for communion, put away communion cups and wafers and check the oil level for the candles.

Communion Assistants
This is one of the most wonderful ways a person can serve. As each person receives communion, you are sharing with them the real presence of Jesus.

Cantors
Cantors are typically chosen from Chancel Choir members and sing the musical portions of the liturgy at the 8:00 AM Traditional Worship Services, September through May.

Art & Environment
The Art and Environment Committee create decorations which help to set the mood for liturgical seasons within the Church. An atmosphere of reverence and beauty -- whether in a floral arrangement, care of a plant, or images and signs of the paschal mystery -- reflects the glory of God.

Lectors
A wonderful way to proclaim not just words, but the Word of God! Through the Lessons of the day, a Lector is called to be a communicator and a story teller of the richness of God's love for his people.

Worship Technician
These individuals are responsible for the set up, maintenance and operation of the church audio and video projection systems. Training is available to any one that has interest in operating the audio board, video camera, video projection system or editing software. We also do audio for weddings.

Ushers
Ushers welcome people as they enter the Sanctuary by giving them the Sunday Bulletin which contains the Order of Service. They receive the Offering of the congregation, and direct them to the Altar to receive Communion.

At 8:00 AM Sunday morning worship service, there are three Ushering Teams which usher for one month, four times per year.

At 10:30 AM, the Contemporary Ushering Team ushers in groups of individuals or families (any age is appropriate)
