Rev. John A. Worzala Dumke
Pastor John A. Worzala Dumke was called to Peace Lutheran Church in October 2012. He received his Masters of Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. Pastor John is originally from Green Bay, WI and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Pastor John has had an off and on relationship with the Church his whole life, he really picked up on God's call for him in the Ministry working summers at Imago Dei Village, one of the Crossways Camps. Pastor John worked as a Youth Minister at Prince of Peace of Appleton, WI, as well as Trinity Lutheran Church in Pleasanton, CA. Pastor John and his wife Kirsten, have a daughter, Roman Malia - and a child on the way!Pastor John is passionate about the intersection of Life and faith and enjoys talking about Theology with just about anyone who will listen. He is very interested in the multitude of ways we can worship our creator, and how many different forms discipleship can take - Pastor John believes disciples come in all shapes and sizes, mainstream, alternative, or otherwise, all are called by God to love one another and to carry on the mission of Jesus. His passion also extends to the Sports teams of Wisconsin, especially the Badgers, the Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers - Pastor John would die a happy man if they'd win a World Series in his lifetime!
"I see faith as a holding in tension that which has been revealed to us in Jesus and through the texts, with the unknown God, the one who surpasses all understanding. Faith can be a tricky thing, and I love walking with people in this journey - with it's ups and downs, it's pauses and re-starts - all the while asking the difficult questions, not just taking things for granted but exploring the faith of the God-man Jesus and all that he invites us into through the Holy Spirit. All in all, It's one crazy ride, that's for sure."
Pastor John knows we don't go this faith journey alone, so come and join us at Peace and we will participate in this "crazy" ride together as the Body of Christ
